Day 160

As I was walking to the bus stop this morning, I noticed that the grass I was walking through was REALLY covered in dew! When I got to the stop I was glad to see that there was some grass nearby that I could photograph (since I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be late for the bus). I crouched down and started taking pictures of the wet grass, which I'm sure looked odd to anyone driving by. Oh well!

Isn't it so pretty ... and awesome??

I went for a walk on my own in Halifax today, trying to get some architecture photos for my application portfolio. I hadn't been in Halifax for quite some time, and I was surprised at how I was not longer used to the bustle of people on the street. I wasn't really able to get into my photography zone so that I could look at the porential subjects around me and actually think about what would make a good photo (angle, distance, etc.). So I was getting a little frustrated. I kept worrying that I would get in people's way, since there were so many people walking on the sidewalks, or that perhaps someone would get upset with me taking a picture of certain buildings.
But I'm pretty sure that as long as I'm on public property (sidewalks) then I can take a photo of anything I can see from that location.
I need to teach myself to to be able to get in my zone, even when lots of people are around... :)

This is my new bag!! Isn't it cute? I ordered it from Etsy and it arrived about a week ago - I just didn't take a picture of it until tonight. I love it! :D

As I was trying to figure out what to do for today's photo, I was playing with Mouse on the floor. One of the other cats startled him and he jumped up and ran off. In doing so, he swiped one of his back claws across my finger :( Sad face.

The weather this weekend was lovely! We had the windows and balcony door open all day, and the kitties loved it. They can hear the birds chattering and making all kinds of noise in the roof above us, so they sit at the door for hours, just watching and listening.

Here is Mouse again (left) with his brother, Bear Mountain (right). Super cute!

I went on a 2.5 hour walk in the woods today with my camera :) The rest of the day's photos will be posted on Facebook tomorrow. I've been going through them for hours - I'm pooped!

This is a tiny part of a big painted electrical box beside the bus stop I was at. Most of these boxes around the HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality, for those not local) are painted! They have all kind of different designs on them - some abstract, some very detailed. They're really neat!
This one was a painting of a path in a forest with two people walking along. This is a close up of the leaves at the top of the box :)

Day 143

I tried out a double-exposure app on my iPhone today. With my Argus, I sometimes forget if I've already wound it in preparation for a new shot, or if it's waiting to be wound. So I know I'll have some double-exposures when I get it developed. I've also done some as double-exposures on purpose, so we'll see how they turn out :)

This one is just silly and isn't so great... but I was just playing around on the floor with the kitties.

Day 142

Little Sooky Mouse is living up to his name today! I'm trying to work on my school applications, and he insists on putting his head, paws, and sometimes torso on my hands and computer. Very hard to get any work done like that...

Day 141

I went for a walk today, to finish my first roll of film in my Argus C3 (the camera in my photo from a few days ago).

I saw this poor fish in a ditch near the apartment and felt sorry for him ... and whoever lost him. He looked really bright and new, which was even sadder :( Am I crazy for feeling sad for stuffed animals?

I got an extended lunch break today, so I spent half of it outside, walking by the lake with my camera. Spring is coming, folks! I can't wait for more sun!

Day 139

I bought this awesome camera on Etsy.com and just received it in the mail the other day! I watched a few videos on the operation of the camera, and decided to put in a roll of film today. I'm really nervous that it'll turn out terrible, but hoping it won't. I took a few photos today, but due to the rain outside, the natural light isn't very bright. I'll take some more when the sun comes out again :)

Day 138

Today was my last day on my current work team, and I am quite sad about that. I'm excited about starting a new position, but I will really miss my friends on this team.

As I left work I saw that it was quite rainy and sad-looking outside, but I think this photo shows I can make something good out of a blah situation! :)

I've been wanting to try my hand at this idea I had...

As some of you may know, I have Synesthesia, which (for me) means that my letters, words, numbers, and even music all have colours. I wanted to show my alphabet through a series of photos that match my letters.

It may take me a while to finish the alphabet, since I'll be pretty picky about my colours being right... but here we go!

(I may not go in alphabetical order, if some letters present themselves before others as I go along - we shall see.)

Day 136

I took today off work, since I had a late flight home last night. I went through all my photos from the weekend, and just rested my legs/feet after standing for so many hours in the last two days! Mouse tried to help me edit the photos, but he was a bit more of a hindrance than a help.

On Sunday morning, all the Johnson siblings (and their children) came back for some brunch at Joe and Sue's! Naomi and I were chillin' in the comfy chairs, and I guess she decided she'd had enough of the camera :P

After 2 months of secret planning, we successfully surprised my parents with a big party for their 25th anniversary! Of course they already knew about their anniversary, but this was more than a week later, so it wasn't expected :)

We had an AWESOME time, and I was so happy that I was able to go!

I had a leisurely walk home today with my camera. It helped me appreciate the tiny things I saw along the way. Like this branch! This little sprouty bit was actually kind of soft, although I think it will turn into evergreen-like spindles when it gets bigger.

If anyone actually knows what kind of tree this is, that'd be cool. I don't know much about trees!

Okay, I know it's another cat, but he was being goofy when I was trying to take a picture of something else. And this turned out better than the other idea. So here he is :)

I got my Mini Moo cards in the mail today :) Look at 'em! Aren't they cute?? I put a bunch of different photos on them, so there are more than the ones seen here.

P.S. For those of you who recognize your baby or pet in one of the photos, you can definitely have it :) And if anyone wants to take a few to give to anyone you know who may be interested in contacting me... lemme know! I will set you up, lol.
